Additional Information
Samuel Raven was born December 10th in Birmingham where he probably lived all his life. Trade directories list him as a resident between 1815 and 1847. He was known for his exquisitely detailed paintings of dogs executed on small panels. Raven often included elaborate details in the backgrounds of his dog portraits.
