Mounted with ebonized roundels throughout; the rectangular top over a frieze drawer to one side opposed by a a drawer front; raised on stylized lyre-form end supports joined by a turned stretcher and on plinth bases with casters.
This unusual table is designed in the early 19th century 'antique' manner with plinth-supported ends of inverted-lyre scroll form centered by a medallion, both derived from a library table illustrated in Thomas Hope's "Household Furniture", 1807, pl. XII, nos. 6 and 7, and from engravings of the celebrated marble Tomb of Agrippa.
