Description
Depicting St. Peter’s Square surrounded by panels illustrating various historic sites of Ancient Rome; including the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, Castel Sant’Angelo, the Roman Forum and the Pyramid of Cestius; the base with gadrooned top edge over a plain frieze raised on three finely foliate carved monopodia supports ending in paw feet and joined by incurved stretchers with c-scroll brackets.
